Haw River Farmhouse

Haw River is so committed to locally sourcing ingredients they’ve harvested their own wild yeast right in Saxapahaw. And then, they brewed beer with it. That’s right: it’s yeast from their very own backyard.

Their beer is rooted in Belgian history because it’s a centuries-long basis for great beer that doesn’t follow too many parameters or distinct styles. So, they’re continuing the tradition—by being a bit non-traditional. From field to glass, founders Ben & Dawnya Woodward use country ingenuity to cook up new ways of brewing. Just like Belgian farmers have done for generations.
